The program is taught by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts who are highly experienced in working with children who have autism.

Objectives:

• To provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with children with ASD in family homes or specialized centres.
• To prepare students for a career as a Behaviour Interventionist.
• To provide students with the opportunity to further their education in the field of disability and community studies.

Program Description:

The Behaviour Intervention Certificate program consists of 18 credits of coursework, including:

• Introduction to Practice
• Teaching and Learning Foundations
• Characteristics of Exceptionalities
• Foundations of Family Support
• Teaching & Learning: Introduction to Communication and Behaviour
• Behaviour Intervention Practicum (or Behavioural Intervention Lab)

Assessment:

Students are assessed through a variety of methods, including:

• Assignments

• Exams
• Practicum

Teaching:
