Program Description:
The Grades 7-12 Certification - Mathematics program is a four-year, full-time program. The program includes the following coursework:
- Mathematics Courses: Students will take a variety of mathematics courses, including calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra, and differential equations. These courses will provide students with a strong foundation in the mathematical concepts they will be teaching.
- Education Courses: Students will take a variety of education courses, including foundations of education, educational psychology, and curriculum and instruction. These courses will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to be effective teachers.
- Pedagogy Courses: Students will take a variety of pedagogy courses, including methods of teaching mathematics, assessment of student learning, and classroom management. These courses will provide students with the skills they need to plan, implement, and assess mathematics instruction.
- Field Experiences: Students will complete a series of field experiences in local schools. These experiences will provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
