Program Overview
The University Transfer Pre-BSN Nursing program is designed for students who want to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree before entering the workforce. The pre-major provides you the opportunity to complete common nursing pre-requisite courses, while earning college transferrable credits to satisfy admissions requirements for BSN programs at four-year colleges and universities.

Admission requirements to enter Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs at four-year institutions vary by school, so it’s essential to have a good idea about where you want to complete your BSN degree. When you enroll in Madison College’s Pre-BSN Nursing program, you’ll need to meet with your faculty advisor who will help you customize your academic plan to ensure you take the required courses you need to enroll at the college or university of your choice.

Admission Requirements

- Education Completion
- Submit official transcripts from the institutions you attended that indicate one of the following:
- High school completion (current high school seniors may submit an in-progress transcript)
- GED/HSED completion
- College transcript or Madison College experience showing:
- Completion of an associate degree or higher, or
- At least 30 credits completed with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4-point scale
- The credits must be completed at a single college and cannot be combined with other transcripts
- Any transfer credit listed on a transcript does not count toward the 30-credit minimum
- Credits completed at Madison College are evaluated and do not require a transcript
- All high school and/or college transcripts are recommended to be submitted for Credit for Prior Learning evaluation.
