The Bilingual Extension program certifies teachers in New York State to teach English Language Learners (ELLs) in bilingual settings. The Bilingual Extension program offers certification for candidates already certified to teach in New York State and who seek to teach English Language Learners (ELLs) in a bilingual setting. Entry Requirements:

  • A completed application for admission.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • You must be proficient in English and in another language used for instruction in NYS public schools.
  • These include: French Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Urdu.
