The Basic Correctional Officer Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry-level positions in corrections. It covers adult corrections procedures, interviewing, counseling, defensive tactics, public relations, and communication. The program includes a mandatory Basic Correctional Officer Training course and a choice of one elective course. It meets or exceeds the California Board of Corrections and Rehabilitation mandates.
