Graduate Certificate in Islamic Psychology

The Graduate Certificate in Islamic Psychology at Charles Sturt University is the first degree of its kind in Australia. This course allows students to investigate the intersection of several disciplines: psychology of religion, spirituality, counselling, and Islam. Students will explore novel connections between these disciplines to formulate a holistic understanding of the psychology of the Muslim experience and mental health among Muslims.

What You Will Study

• For each 8-point subject, students should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week working on assignments and assigned readings
• The course includes an intensive school for certain subjects

    • ISL401: Introduction to Islamic Psychology
    • ISL402: Islamic Psychology: Human Behaviour and Experience
    • ISL403: Applied Islamic Psychology and Counselling
    • ISL470: Essentials of Islamic Spirituality

Costs

• Course Fees:
  • A fee-paying student will pay a tuition fee for each subject in the course without the Australian government contributing any financial support to the university
  • Eligible students still have the option to defer their fees through FEE-HELP

  1. Pay all of your student contribution up front direct to the university
  2. Pay part of your student contribution to the university and defer the balance via a HECS-HELP loan through the Australian Government (if eligible)
  3. Defer all of your student contribution via a HECS-HELP loan through the Australian Government (if eligible)

  • Bachelor Degree (or AQF equivalent) in any discipline from a University or other tertiary education provider
  • OR Work experience, within the same industry as the course profile, of no less than three years
