The Environmental Science Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) Degree, also known as the Environmental AS-T Degree, aims to equip students for a seamless transfer to a California State University (CSU) campus to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Environmental Science.


Objectives:

  • Provide students with a solid foundation in science methodology and applied analysis to study natural and human environments from an interdisciplinary perspective.
  • Enhance students' understanding of natural sciences (biology, chemistry, geology, and physics), integrated social and applied science (economics, geography, and bioregional studies), and mathematics (calculus and statistics) in relation to environmental science.
  • Prepare students for a successful transfer to a CSU program or major in Environmental Science, enabling them to continue their academic journey towards a bachelor's degree.

Outline:

  • The Environmental Science AS-T degree requires completion of 60 CSU transferable units.
  • The curriculum includes completion of IGETC for STEM (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum), which requires an additional 6 units of general education upon transfer.
  • The major coursework consists of 41 units, with all courses requiring a minimum grade of "C" to count towards the major.
