Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


For Regular Degree Status:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related area
  • Overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • OR
  • Overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5 with an average of 3.0 or better for the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) earned toward the undergraduate degree

Acceptable Undergraduate Degrees:

  • Any four-year engineering degree
  • Many science and math degrees that require at least three semesters of calculus and a differential equations course

Prerequisite Courses:

Students who did not complete the following prerequisite courses in their undergraduate program may be permitted to take them after admission to the Renewable and Clean Energy program:

  • Thermodynamics I (ME 3310/5310 at Wright State)
  • Fluid Dynamics (ME 3350/5350 at Wright State)
  • Heat Transfer (ME 3360/5360 at Wright State)
  • Materials Science (ME 2700 at Wright State)

Additional Requirements for Non-ABET Accredited Undergraduate Programs:

  • Submit general GRE test scores
