Program Overview
The Fire Technology Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry-level firefighting careers. It covers fire prevention, suppression, behavior, materials, extinguishing agents, protection systems, command, and management. Students can choose to continue their studies towards an associate or baccalaureate degree. Past graduates have secured positions as firefighters, firefighters/EMTs, and paramedics.

Degree Overview:
Fire Technology is the study of fire prevention and suppression techniques, fire behavior, combustible materials, extinguishing agents, hazardous and toxic materials, fire protection techniques and systems, fire command, and fire management. The Fire Technology Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide students with the skills necessary for employment or advancement as an entry-level firefighter. Students may also choose to continue their studies towards an associate degree or a baccalaureate degree in the field. This program follows the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) model from the National Fire Academy and prepares individuals for entry-level careers in the fire service.
