Program Overview

National Louis University's BSN program prepares students with a C or better in prerequisites and a 3.0 GPA to advance their nursing education. The program includes clinical experiences in various settings, preparing students for the NCLEX exam and a career as a professional nurse. Classes meet in downtown Chicago, with lab experiences in a simulation center and clinical experiences across the metro area. Graduates are equipped to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to diverse patients across the lifespan.

Degree Overview:

• National Louis University provides a program that assists students in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to advance their education in the upper-division on-ground transfer program.
• The program is designed for students who have completed necessary prerequisites with a C or better within the last 5 years and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for all college-level coursework.
• Students will advance their education to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree.
• Clinical experiences begin in the first quarter, with lab/simulations and clinical experiences occurring in the Chicago Metro area.
• Students will gain experience across the lifespan, including Adult Health, Child Health, Obstetrics, and Gynecologic Health, Behavioral Health, and Population Health.
• An immersive clinical experience at the program's conclusion will round out clinical experiences.
• Students will complete over 690 clinical hours, preparing them for their future roles as professional nurses.

Teaching:

• Classes meet at the Michigan Ave location in downtown Chicago.
• Lab experiences are conducted in a newly built Center for Simulation and Interprofessional Education.
• Clinical experiences occur in various facilities across the metro area.
• The program is completed full-time over 6 quarters, with no coursework in the summer, allowing for nurse externship opportunities to be explored.
