Program Overview

This program prepares students to become highly qualified English teachers for grades 6-12. It combines coursework in curriculum and instruction with extensive field experience and student teaching. The program's unique mentored clinical practice component provides students with regular seminars and support from faculty and peers throughout their student teaching experience. Graduates are prepared for careers as high school or middle school English teachers, communications teachers, creative writing teachers, journalism teachers, or debate coaches.
