The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) is an entry-level professional degree program for students with a bachelor's degree, typically in a related field. The program provides students with the knowledge and expertise to improve healthcare for physically active individuals and serve as healthcare leaders in their communities. Through a combination of coursework and clinical experiences, the program prepares students to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. Students gain approximately 300 clinical experiential hours per semester in clinical sites throughout San Antonio and the surrounding area, including unique opportunities in the military setting with up to 75% of experiences conducted with the armed forces. In the final semester, students engage in an immersive clinical experience in their intended practice setting, potentially leading to placements across the United States or internationally.
