Program Overview

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is designed for students who are ready to prepare for a career in the healthcare field or to move up to a senior leadership position if the student is a healthcare professional. Students can select from two tracks: the administrative track and the general track.

Why Earn a Health Sciences Degree?

This degree provides the option to sit for four nationally accredited healthcare certifications:

• Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician
• Certified Billing and Coding Specialist
• Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant Completion of the core classes will satisfy the minimum certification examination requirements.

Receive Credit for Prior Training Experience

Students who have 18 or more credits in the allied health field or appropriate military training can transfer their credits into this degree program to fulfill the general studies concentration.

Allied Health Hours (18 qualifying hours minimum)

The General/Military track is designed for the working allied healthcare practitioner who may have previously earned a recognizable specialty certification and/or completed military training and experience but desires an associate degree.

Elective Coursework

Elective courses will be selected to complete the 120-hour requirement for the degree as needed.

Community Service Hours (45 hours)

45 hours of community service is required as part of the degree.
