Program Overview


Artificial Intelligence Analysis, Design and Implementation (graduate certificate)

Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Analysis, Design and Implementation graduate certificate program equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. Throughout the program, students will delve into various key areas of AI, including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and data analytics.


Admission Requirements

  • Proof of English language proficiency required

OR


  • A minimum of three years of related industry experience detailed in a professional resumé with a letter of intent may be considered
  • Proof of English language proficiency required

Applicants who are internationally educated in a non-English speaking country must meet Durham College’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

Experiential Learning

  • Applied Research: Students will have the opportunity to engage in applied research with the Durham College Hub for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence for Business Solutions, better known as the AI Hub.
  • Capstone projects: All students will complete two diverse capstone projects – one per semester – to apply their classroom learning to tangible, real-world challenges.
  • Optional work term: Students who meet all academic requirements will be eligible to pursue an optional work term in a formal work environment or entrepreneurial endeavour.

Administrative Fee

Once transferred to the work term option of this AI program, students will have an administrative fee of $475 assessed to their accounts during the academic semester(s) prior to the scheduled work term(s).


Co-op Work Permits

If you are an international student enrolled in the work term option, you are required to have a valid co-op work permit before starting your work term. You must apply for and receive a Social Insurance Number in order to work in Canada. Documentation and instructions on how to apply for a co-op work permit will be provided only to students who are successful with their application into the work term option once semester 1 grades have been finalized.
