General Arts and Science – Liberal Arts Ontario Tech University Transfer
Program Overview
Criminology, community development and communication are just a few of the areas covered under Liberal Arts. This eight-month program helps students determine their area of interest while strengthening communication and thinking skills, sharpening academic skillsets, and increasing social science and liberal studies knowledge. Successful graduates may be eligible for advanced standing into Year Two of Ontario Tech University’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology and Justice, Legal Studies, Liberal Studies, Community Development and Policy Studies, Psychology or Communication and Digital Media Studies. This program also helps students familiarize themselves with post-secondary life, workload, expectations and surroundings.

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Mature Student Status
- Grade 12 English (C or U)

Career Options
As a graduate, you may use your newly acquired transferable skillset to pursue employment opportunities or to further your studies in other college diploma, advanced diploma, or university degree programs. Some General Arts and Science courses may also be transferable to other post-secondary programs.
Program Transfer, Degree Completion and Additional Credentials
Qualified graduates can apply to Ontario Tech’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology and Justice, Legal Studies, Liberal Studies, Community Development and Policy Studies or Communications and Digital Media Studies and may also be eligible to apply their academic credits towards further study through Durham College’s partnerships with many Canadian and international colleges and universities.
