Program Overview

The Early Childhood Special Education (ECE/SPED) degree at Black Hills State University equips graduates to provide research-based education for diverse learners from newborns to eight-year-olds. Through hands-on experiences in preschool through third-grade classrooms, graduates gain the knowledge and skills to effectively reach individual children and collaborate with families. This degree qualifies graduates for various settings, including public schools, early intervention programs, and early childhood developmental centers.
