For you?

At The Hague University of Applied Sciences we believe that our current fast changing world requires engineers and IT specialists who are prepared to look at problems from different perspectives and who have learnt to collaborate with professionals from other disciplines.

The EPS is a great way to develop these important skills. The number of successful EPS projects have therefore increased in the past years. We offer five EPS projects, at two different faculties.

Degree programme content

IT & Design

  • In the EPS @ IT&Design you will work in Scrum teams with students from Software Engineering, Communication and Multimedia Design, Business, Information Security Management and several other disciplines on a project coming from our Innolab. The actual projects start usually quite broad such as: ‘develop an IT solution to promote art’ or ‘develop an IT solution to ensure that elderly can live home longer’ and the EPS teams succeed to scope the project in such a manner that all disciplines find their role. See this video of one of our previous EPS projects.

Living Lab ‘Sustainable mobility’

  • You can choose to participate in one of the two following living lab environments:
    • The Formula Cruisers
    • The Handbike Battle

Smart manufacturing & Robotics

  • Go hands-on with real industrial robots, the latest machine vision technologies and artificial intelligence to solve real-life robotics problems for the industry. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced programmer or a seasoned engineer: any technical students can join.

(Sustainable) Packaging Design & Innovation

  • Designing good packaging is not an easy job. Not only the end user (usually the consumer) but many other parties use packages for short or long periods. They all set their own specific demands on packaging. A good packaging designer is trying to develop talents to unite all these requirements together in an effective, attractive, responsible and environmentally conscious packaging.

SMART Sustainable Inclusive Cities

  • Are you interested in sustainability, urban wellness and inclusivity? Are you creative? Do you want to create change in cities? BE SMART! Learn how to make sense of the city using several forms of data analysis and modelling. And activate your insights to make cities of the future SMART, Sustainable and Inclusive. You will be active in a hands-on project so if you have a proactive attitude and you enjoy learning from other disciplines and countries, this minor is for you.
