Biochemistry (MSc Program)

Program Overview

Thesis Option

• Requires completion of Graduate Seminar (3 credit hours), approved graduate-level electives (12 credit hours), and a thesis (12 credit hours).
• Electives must be scientifically-oriented and contribute to the student's research area.
• Students must make an oral presentation of the thesis proposal, write an original thesis based on their research, and present a public oral defense of the thesis.

Project Option

• Designed for candidates seeking to upgrade their skills or who have constraints in undertaking a traditional research thesis.
• Requires completion of Graduate Seminar (3 credit hours), approved elective courses (18 credit hours), and a project (6 credit hours).
• Elective courses must be at the graduate level (600 or above) and relevant to the specialization area.
• Students must make a presentation of the project proposal, write a project report, and present a public oral defense of the project.
