Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice

The Faulkner University Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies offers a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice that’s designed for students who wish to seek employment with criminal justice organizations and law enforcement agencies. Courses are taught by criminal justice faculty who can offer expertise to our students because of their real-world experience working in various criminal justice fields. Our faculty is recognized by peers for their knowledge and effectiveness as instructors.


Our curriculum integrates Christian ethical and moral perspectives with the typical values systems associated with criminal justice and provides a broad-based program of study, including topics that are essential for entering the wide range of fields associated with criminal justice systems.


A Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree requires a total of 122 credit hours consisting of:


  • 50 credit hours of core curriculum, including:

    • Cultural heritage literacy
    • Information and communication literacy
    • Mathematics and scientific literacy
    • Personal and social literacy
  • 54 credit hours of professional literacy, including:
    • Criminal justice courses

Accelerated Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice for Adults

In addition to the typical four-year undergraduate program, Faulkner University offers an accelerated bachelor’s degree in criminal justice for adults who have completed at least two years of college coursework prior to enrolling at Faulkner University. The one-year program consists of six eight-week modules taken over three semesters. These courses can be taken fully online or through our online hybrid program, which combines on-site and remote learning. The adult program for earning the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice is geared toward those who are 23 and older, including those who are already employed in law enforcement, corrections, legal fields, and private security. The program grants academic credit for the minimum standards certification in law enforcement and corrections.
