The SPC Firefighting Academy offers a comprehensive 492-hour program that prepares individuals for a career as a firefighter. The program includes modules on fire behavior, physical fitness, PPE, hose and ladder operations, and live fire training. Graduates are eligible to take the state Firefighter II certification exams and pursue employment in firefighting, emergency medical response, or EMT roles.

  • Program Structure: The program is composed of 492 training hours and is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.
  • Full-Time Academy: Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 13 weeks.
  • Available during Spring and Fall.
  • Part-Time Academy: Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. and every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for 23 weeks.
