Program Overview

Tacoma Community College's Paramedic Program is a one-year, 61-credit certificate program that prepares students for a career as a paramedic. The program includes courses in emergency medical care, pharmacology, human body systems, cardiology, medical emergencies, trauma, and special populations. Students must complete prerequisite courses and present proof of state or national EMT certification before applying to the program. The AAS degree in Emergency Medical & Health Services requires the completion of the Paramedic certificate and an additional 42 credits of required degree courses.
