Program Overview
Entrepreneurship, B.B.A.
The Ole Miss entrepreneurship program prepares students to innovate and execute toward their vision of the future. Students will have the opportunity to start their own business under the guidance of a mentor entrepreneur, participate in annual startup competitions with more than $50,000 in prize money, and be taught by expert faculty.

Minor in Entrepreneurship
A minor in entrepreneurship consists of any six of the following courses:
- ACCY 201
- ACCY 202
- GB 350
- GB 370 OR MGMT 371
- BUS 380 (Study Abroad or Study USA trip approved by the department)
- BUS 300 (internship related to entrepreneurship approved by the department)
- Any 300-level or above ENT course.
4 Year Action Plan
The action plan is designed to guide students through each year of their undergraduate journey:
First Year: Explore
- Connect on Campus: Participate in the Business Schools Welcome Week Fair
- Discover Your Strengths, Interests, and Values: Use the Career Centers career exploration tools
- Explore Your Major and Career Options: Strategically choose electives to spark career interests
- Register on the Career DatabasesHandshake and College Central Network
- Obtain part-time, summer, or volunteer jobs to gain experience
- Conduct informational interviews with people working in occupations of interest
Second Year: Learn
- Draft a resume with current college education, experiences, and activities
- Develop and start optimizing your LinkedIn profile
- Conduct a mock interview
- Engage in experiential learning activities such as micro-internships, Forage virtual simulations, job shadowing
- Join the Entrepreneurship Club and participate in the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Activities
- Identify and craft one career-related goal
Third Year: Focus
- Engage in experiences related to career interests and major, such as internships, summer jobs, part-time jobs, service learning, volunteerism, and study abroad
- Obtain a leadership position with a student organization
- Research companies, industries, or graduate schools of interest
- Network and build professional relationships
- Update resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and social media presence
Fourth Year: Action
- Polish personal branding image (resume, cover letter, business cards, online presence)
- Consult experts in the field through informational interviews
- Master the field of study and remain knowledgeable of industry trends
- Practice talking about accomplishments, transferable skills, and qualifications
- Research companies, industry leaders, and jobs
- Book an appointment with the Business School Career Team to review application materials
Navigating Entrepreneurial Career Paths
Entrepreneurship is a broad business degree that can lead to many career opportunities. Students should clearly define their career goals and gain relevant experience through internships. Entrepreneurs should learn a variety of aspects of business, so look for internships that allow learning as much as possible about how the company operates.
