Program Overview


Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Bachelor of Science is a double degree that can be completed in four years with full-time study. This program combines the disciplines of actuarial studies and science, allowing students to develop a specialist quantitative skillset in actuarial models, financial mathematics, probability, and machine learning, while also exploring a scientific field of their choice.


Program Structure

The double degree consists of 192 units of credit (UOC) and is completed over four years. The program structure includes:


  • 96 UOC from Actuarial Studies, comprising level one core courses, level two core courses, Actuarial electives, and an optional specialisation.
  • 96 UOC from Science, including five core courses, one Science major, an optional minor, and Science elective courses.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this degree is based on the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or an equivalent rank derived from other qualifications. The lowest selection rank for 2025 was 99.0. Adjustment factors, such as HSC Plus and Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL), may also be considered.


English Language Requirements

Students may be required to provide evidence of their English proficiency, which can be demonstrated through English language tests, prior study in the medium of English, or other qualifications.


Admission Pathways

If students do not meet the direct entry requirements, they may be eligible for a pathway program with UNSW College.


Fees and Scholarships

The indicative first-year fee for domestic students is $12,500, and the indicative fee to complete the degree is $48,500. For international students, the indicative first-year fee is $58,500, and the indicative fee to complete the degree is $258,500.
