Entry Requirements:
The following are the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) program at UNSW for both domestic and international students:
Domestic Students (Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holders, and New Zealand citizens):
- A minimum ATAR of 80
- Assumed knowledge of Mathematics Extension 1
International Students (students from countries outside of Australia and New Zealand):
- A minimum score of 85 on the International ATAR
- A minimum GPA of 7.5 in UNSW Foundation Studies
- A minimum of 11 General Certificate of Education (GCE A levels) with a minimum of 3 A2 Level subjects, with a minimum grade of A in two of the three A2 Level subjects
- A minimum score of 31 on the International Baccalaureate Diploma
- A minimum SAT score of 1210 (combined score of evidence-based reading and writing and mathematical test scores)
Language Proficiency Requirements:
International students whose first language is not English are required to provide evidence of their English proficiency. This can be done through one of the following:
- A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- A minimum score of 90 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- A minimum score of 176 on the Computer-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- A minimum score of 550 on the Paper-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- A minimum score of 57 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
- Completion of an approved English language proficiency course In addition to the above, international students may also be required to complete an interview as part of the application process.
