The English B.A. program at the University of West Florida is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the literary arts. With two specializations, a comprehensive curriculum, and plenty of room to develop creative potential, this program is an ideal place to delve deeply into the literary arts.

Why Study English at UWF?

Students in the English program benefit from community-based internships, hands-on teaching experience in the UWF Writing Lab, small classes, visiting lectures by notable scholars and writers, and participant-centered workshops. English majors are employers' most preferred humanities graduates because they learn the skills that are powering the 21st-century professional world.

What You Will Learn

The English program at UWF will train students in the arts of writing, critical thinking, and argumentation. Students will learn from faculty who value critical inquiry, cultural awareness, and intellectual curiosity, and who create a welcoming community for those who value the intrinsic and extrinsic rewards of scholarly pursuits.
