Introduction to the Fraud Examinations Undergraduate Certificate

The Fraud Examinations Undergraduate Certificate program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of white-collar crimes and various types of fraud. The purpose of this certificate program is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to recognize and understand the dynamics of white-collar crimes.

The program aims to increase students' skills and knowledge on technical, legal, and investigative aspects of fraud cases and cultivate interest and awareness about Fraud Examinations as a career option. The program is taught by faculty with subject matter expertise and is flexible in both content and modality. What You Will Learn

This certificate program will provide students with general knowledge and basic skills to recognize and understand the dynamics of white-collar crimes in general. The program will cover various aspects of fraud examinations, including technical, legal, and investigative aspects.


Courses

The program includes a range of courses, such as:


  • ACG 3082: Accounting for Non-Majors
    • Coverage of financial, managerial, and cost accounting topics with an emphasis on uses of accounting information; available to non-business majors only.
  • CCJ 4644: White Collar Crime
    • An exploration of major issues related to white collar crime. Theoretical explanations for white-collar crime are also discussed.
  • CJE 4610: Criminal Investigation
    • An introduction to criminal investigation. Topics will include investigative theory, collection and preservation of evidence, sources of information, interview and interrogation, uses of forensic sciences, and case and trial preparation.
  • CJE 3694: Cybercrime
    • Cybercrime is a course for students with a beginning interest in studying crimes committed using digital technology. The course explores the etiology of cybercrime, the various types of cybercrime, law enforcement response, and the prevention of digital crime.
