Program Overview

Valdosta State University's Bachelor of Science in Education in American Sign Language/English Interpreting prepares students for professional interpreting in various settings. The hybrid program offers both on-campus and synchronous remote learning options. Students gain interpreting and transliteration skills, field experience, and an understanding of the interpreter's role in education. Graduates are qualified for careers in freelance, government, education, legal, medical, mental health, and post-secondary interpreting.
