Program Overview

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Education – Foreign Language Education (FLED) prepares candidates to become highly effective foreign language educators in elementary, middle, and high school settings. The 36-semester-hour program includes coursework in foreign language education pedagogy, content knowledge, and research, as well as a practicum experience. Graduates are eligible for initial teaching certification in French or Spanish and may also receive the ESOL endorsement for certified teachers.
