B.S. in Game Design and Development

Overview

The B.S. in Game Design and Development at Wilmington University combines the skills of interactive design, video production, graphic design, 3D modeling, and programming to give students the expertise to create video games for major platforms, consoles, mobile devices, and simulations.

Curriculum

The Game Design and Development degree program prepares students with the "Gaming Skill Set" that balances programming courses and design courses needed to understand the pipeline of product creation, as well as an understanding of video and audio techniques, design interfaces, and user experiences. On the back end, students learn about project management and how to market their finished product.


Learning Environment

Attending class in a lab environment provides access to industry-standard, constantly updated gaming software, immersing students in the leading-edge technologies necessary for success. Hands-on project work guides students in creating a game developer portfolio to showcase their creations and impress prospective employers.


Dual-Credit ADVANTAGE™ (DCA) Accelerated Options

Students can use elective courses in this bachelor's program to complete a related Dual-Credit Certificate while earning their degree or accelerate into their next degree by incorporating master's-level coursework.
