Program Overview
English Teaching Program
The English Teaching option at Montana State University is specifically designed for students who wish to become licensed to teach English literature and composition to middle and high school students in grades 5 through 12. English Teaching students are enrolled in a combination of language arts, English literature, and education coursework designed to prepare those students to thrive as teachers.
Program Details
- The English major at Montana State offers two other Options Within a Major: Literature and Writing.
- In addition to a teaching major, Reading (K-12) is also available as a related teaching minor.
- Often, English Teaching majors also obtain a teaching minor to strengthen their skills and reach more students within the classroom.
