Program Overview
University of Toledo Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
The University of Toledos School of Nursing houses the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program. Our graduates become registered nurses and work in a variety of roles and settings hospitals, schools, jails, academia, and more.
Admission Pathways
All students are initially admitted into Pre-Nursing. Upon completion of the pre-nursing curriculum, there is a competitive admission process for the Upper Division.
Admission Requirements into Pre-Nursing
- Direct Guaranteed Admission Pathway Requirements (only for First-time freshmen or First-time adult students):
- High School GPA of 3.8 or higher through our test-optional pathway OR High School GPA of 3.6 or higher and ACT score of 23/SAT score of 1130
- Achieve and maintain a UToledo GPA of 3.5 to have a guaranteed seat in the program.
- Traditional Pathway Requirements (for First-time freshmen or First-Time adult students):
- High School GPA of 3.0 through our test-optional pathway OR High School GPA of 2.75 and ACT score of 19/SAT score of 990
- A minimum cumulative higher education GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to apply for the upper division.
- Transfer Pathway Requirements (for transfers from other schools or other UToledo majors):
- Must be in good standing with a cumulative higher education GPA of 2.75 and 12 graded semester hours
- A minimum cumulative higher education GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to apply for the upper division.

UToledo Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates have a broad knowledge base when they graduate. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and jails. Our graduates become travel nurses, forensic nurses, researchers, nurse educators, nurse consultants, flight nurses, military nurses, and more. Many also decide to continue their education to become a nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist, or nurse executive.
