Overview of the School Psychology Graduate Program

The University of Toledos School Psychology graduate program offers master of arts and education specialist degrees. Our program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

During the past 14 years, every graduate of UToledo's School Psychology graduate program has found work in the field. This is a true testament to how well we prepare our students to serve as compassionate, culturally aware school psychologists.


Our graduates work as licensed school psychologists and administrators. Some have pursued doctoral degrees.


Program Structure

The program offers both a Master of Arts (M.A.) and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.


  • The M.A. degree requires 2 years and 31 credits to complete.
  • The Ed.S. degree requires 3 years and 47 credits to complete.

First-year graduate students participate in a 100-hour pre-practicum that includes a focus on culturally responsive practice. Each Ed.S. student completes an additional 400-hour practicum and 1,200-hour internship.
