Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialized knowledge and skills in the field of organizational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organization. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.


This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.


Course Duration

This qualification will be delivered over 104 weeks, including 72 weeks of training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 9 weeks and 32 weeks of holidays. Holidays are 4 weeks per term.


Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills-based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.


Delivery Mode and Location

This course will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting which includes the simulation of workplace-based environment, as well as structured, online study.


Entry Requirements

  • International students must:
    • Have completed a Certificate IV or higher level vocational or higher education qualification.
    • Be at least 18 years of age
    • Have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
      • Educated for 5 years in an English speaking country; or
      • Completed at least 6 months of a minimum Certificate III level or higher course in an Australian RTO or education institute; or
      • Successful completion of an English Placement Test or evidence of undertaking relevant ELICOS program.
  • Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted.

Course Structure

The BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) requires the successful completion of three (3) core units and five (5) elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in leadership and education management.

  • BSBLDR812: Develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships (Elective, 225 hours)
  • BSBTWK601: Develop and maintain strategic business networks (Elective, 225 hours)
  • BSBMKG624: Manage market research (Elective, 225 hours)

Enrolment and Orientation

Upon acceptance of a student's application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a written agreement, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received, as well as the first payment.


The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.


Course Credit

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). The granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.


Additional Support

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes:


  • Academic and personal support.
  • Referral to external support services.

Training Arrangements

Students are required to attend classes for 13.5 hours a week and complete 6.5 hours of structured online study per week. In addition to this, students are also required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study per week comprising of general reading and research for assessments.


Assessment Arrangements

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:


  • Projects
  • Presentations
  • Report writing
  • Observations
  • Questioning (oral or written)

The costs for this course are as follows:
