Big Data Science, Certificate

The Big Data Science certificate program is designed to provide students with the skills to master data analytical techniques, which are highly sought after in various domains. Upon completing the certificate, students will have acquired programming skills, fundamentals of statistics, and knowledge of modern descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical techniques.


Overview

The certificate helps meet the growing demand for data science professionals by equipping students with the ability to deal with complex data. Students will learn how to process data in tabular format, principles of big data analytics, and advanced approaches for data analysis.

  • CPSC 146: Programming Principles (3 hours)
  • CPSC 236: Selected Computer Languages (Python) (3 hours)
  • CPSC 323: Fundamentals of Database Systems (3 hours)
  • CPSC 405: Data Mining and Data Analysis (3 hours)
  • CPSC 485: Big Data Analytics (3 hours)
  • STAT 152: Elementary Statistics I (3 hours)
