Rowan University’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Urban and Regional Planning provides students a pathway into a growing profession that directly impacts the development of communities. Planners are problem solvers who utilize a variety of skill sets to help communities—from the smallest towns and neighborhoods to the largest cities and regions.


Curriculum

The M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning is a full-time or part-time program offered in a face-to-face format on our Glassboro, NJ campus. It requires the completion of 46 graduate semester hours (14 courses), which are possible to complete in three to four consecutive semesters.

Rowan University's Master of Science (M.S.) in Urban and Regional Planning program offers a pathway into a growing profession impacting community development. Entry Requirements:

For the M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning program at Rowan University, the following are required for application:

  • A certified English translation is required if the documents are not in English.
  • Professional Resume/CV: A professional resume or CV is required.
  • References: At least two references (professional or academic) submitted on official letterhead are required.
  • Statement of Professional Objectives: Similar to the requirement above, but should also address career goals and educational goals beyond the master's level if applicable.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency: International students must submit standardized test scores unless they are exempt.
  • Acceptable tests include TOEFL (code 2515), PTE (code M7V), Duolingo (add Rowan University to "My Colleges"), and IELTS (official score reports verifiable with the TRF#). A Foreign Credential Evaluation Report is optional.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

International students must provide proof of English language proficiency unless exempt. Students who do not meet the minimum scores may be offered conditional admission and required to complete the university's English Language Program (ELP) before starting their degree program.
