The program provides students with the knowledge, skills and training necessary to perform quality work as a crime scene technician, including the collection, preservation, documentation and presentation of criminal evidence. Students will also learn about the criminal justice and criminal courts system. This AS degree does not qualify students for state certification as a law enforcement or corrections officer. To become certified as a corrections or law enforcement officer a student must complete a Florida state certified Basic Recruit Training Program (Police Academy or Corrections Academy).
