Overview
This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to a student who has completed a basic series of technical production courses in preparation for a costume and/or make-up career in theatre and related entertainment technology.
Requirements
Complete all Department Requirements for the Certificate of Achievement with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better. Candidates for a Certificate of Achievement are required to complete at least 20% of the department requirements through SBCC.

The Costume Crafts and Design Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students for a career in costume and makeup in theatre and related entertainment technology. The program provides students with a foundation in the technical aspects of costume design and production, including sewing construction, costume technology, theatrical makeup techniques, and stage lighting. Students will also develop an understanding of the function of costuming in theatrical production and demonstrate safe, efficient, and effective work habits.

Program Description:
This Certificate of Achievement program consists of 16 units of coursework, including 12 units of required courses and 4 units of elective courses. The required courses provide students with a foundation in the technical aspects of costume design and production. The elective courses allow students to tailor their program to their specific interests and career goals.

- Class participation Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in order to receive the Certificate of Achievement.

The Costume Crafts and Design program is taught by a team of experienced faculty who are dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education.
