Overview

Designed to provide a focused skillset for those students interested in pursuing a career in Digital Cinematography.

Requirements

Complete all department requirements with a “C” or higher or "P" in each course. Candidates for a Skills Competency Award are required to complete at least 20% of the department requirements through SBCC.

• FP 170: Cinematography I (3 units)
• FP 175: Film and Video Production I (3 units)
• FP 207: Color Correction for Film (3 units)
• FP 270: Cinematography II (3 units)

Learning Outcomes

• Analyze a script and determine camera, light and grip needs, and create a lighting plan.
• Compose and shoot a scene using a digital video camera.
• Light a scene using light and grip equipment.
• Color Correct raw footage for integration in a Non-Linear editing workflow.
