- IT 403: Introduction to Internet Technologies (4 credits)
- Select one course from the following (4 credits):
- CS 405: Introduction to Applications Programming
- CS 410C: Introduction to Scientific Programming/C
- CS 410P: Introduction to Scientific Programming/Python
- CS 414: From Problems to Algorithms to Programs
- Select one course from the following (4 credits):
- WS 444D: Cyborgs, Avatars, and Feminists: Gender in the Virtual World

Assessment:
- Credit toward the cognate is given for courses passed with a grade of C- or better.
- A 2.00 grade-point average must be maintained in courses for the cognate.
- Courses taken on a pass/fail basis may not be used for the cognate.
