Program Overview

The Critical Disability Studies Minor at Eastern Michigan University explores the societal construction of disability and its intersection with other forms of oppression. Students examine the experiences of people with disabilities, their resistance to stigma, and the creation of a vibrant disability culture. The interdisciplinary curriculum allows students to focus on theory or practice, complementing various majors in liberal arts, social sciences, and practice-based fields.
