Program Overview

The Early Childhood Education M.A. program at Eastern Michigan University prepares certified teachers for advanced roles in early childhood education, including classroom teaching, child care program direction, and other positions serving children from birth to age eight. The program emphasizes age-appropriate curriculum development, individualized instruction, and culturally responsive practices, meeting the standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Graduates are eligible for the early childhood endorsement for the elementary teaching certificate in Michigan.
