International Business Minor (for Non-Business Majors)
Program Overview
The International Business minor at EMU provides students with a comprehensive understanding of global business practices, ethics, and international trade. Through required courses and language or study abroad options, students develop a global perspective and enhance their career prospects in international business. The minor emphasizes the impact of globalization on professions and communities, fostering discourse and understanding in a rapidly interconnected world.

- COB 200L4 Introduction to Business [GELB] (3 hrs)
- IB 210 Fundamentals of Global Business [GEGA] (3 hrs)
- IB 375 Doing Business in Countries/Regions (1.5 hrs) (taken twice for a total of 3 hrs)
- IB 380 International Business Ethics (3 hrs)
Language or Study Abroad (6 hours):
- Option 1: Complete six credit hours of a World Language
- Option 2: Complete six credit hours of relevant Study Abroad experience
Restricted Electives (3 hours):
- ACC 475 Principles of International Accounting & Taxation (3 hrs)
- ECON 370 Comparative Economic Systems (3 hrs)

Careers:
This minor will allow EMU graduates to raise their consciousness about the impact of globalization on their professions and their communities. It will promote discourse and understanding both during students’ time at EMU and beyond.
