Program Overview
The Master of Arts in Teaching Physics program prepares students with a science background to become certified physics teachers for grades 6-12 in Michigan. The 37-38 credit hour program includes physics content courses, an elective, a thesis or final project, and a professional studies in education core. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively teach physics in secondary schools.

- The Master of Arts in Teaching Physics leads to initial teaching certification in Physics Grades 6-12.
- The program is 37-38 credit hours.
- The program is intended for students with a BA or BS in Physics, Physical Science, and/or Integrated Science or General Science, or an equivalent degree who wish to earn teacher certification with the State of Michigan.
- The program includes the following content areas:
