Program Overview


This interdisciplinary minor in Social Studies complements majors in Economics, Geography, History, or Political Science. It requires 24 hours of coursework, including at least two courses from each discipline besides the major. Students must complete six credit hours at the 300-level or above in their minor. The minor is designed for students who do not complete a Secondary Education Social Studies Comprehensive Major but may also be elected by students seeking an interdisciplinary course of study in the social sciences.

It is primarily intended to serve students who decide not to complete one of our Secondary Education Social Studies Comprehensive Majors, but it may also be elected by students seeking an interdisciplinary course of study in the social sciences.


Minor Requirements: 24 hours

This minor is only available to students pursuing a major in Economics, Geography, History, or Political Science. Students must complete at least two courses from each discipline besides their major. The University requires students to complete a minimum of six credit hours at the 300-level or above in their minor.
