Master of Education in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision
The University of Oklahoma offers the Master of Education in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Supervision degree in its entirety on the Tulsa campus. Cohorts generally include 15-30 students. The program is designed to prepare students for administrative and other leadership positions in schools.
Program Overview
Students have access to a rigorous, high-quality program that is designed to meet the needs of working professionals by offering intensive weekend classes supplemented by outside research activities and field experiences. All coursework is offered at the Schusterman Center and/or online.
Why Study for a Master in Education at OU-Tulsa?
There are several delivery approaches used for courses, including the traditional late afternoon/evening courses that run for an entire semester, as well as an alternative three weekend (Thursday evening and all day Saturday) approach. Students have five years from the time they are admitted to the program to complete the degree.
Accreditation and Approval
OU’s M.Ed. in Educational Administration is accredited by NCATE and approved by the State of Oklahoma as meeting preparation standards for building level school leadership licenses and certificates.
Program Goals
The goals of the EACS program are to:
- prepare educators for leadership roles;
- produce, disseminate and consume research that informs leadership practices;
- provide service to the professional, scholarly and University communities;
- promote the use and integration of technology; and
- provide highly relevant field practice.
Program Requirements
To complete the program, students must:
- have a baccalaureate degree in education or equivalent area from an accredited institution and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on undergraduate coursework
- submit official transcripts
- complete the EACS Program Admission form
- participate in an interview with the admission committee as scheduled
Curriculum
The program requires a minimum of 36 semester credit hours of graduate credit and successful completion of a Comprehensive Electronic Portfolio. Sample courses include:

Certifications
In Oklahoma, administrative certificates are issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE). Individuals are strongly recommended to check with the State Department for specific certification requirements. OU-Tulsa has certification programs for the preparation of school principals and superintendents, including Principal Certification.
