Course Structure

  • Learn the foundations of and essential skills in aeromedical retrieval
  • Study the management of patient transportation in fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters in both domestic and international contexts
  • Examine models of aeromedical care, aircraft characteristics and flight-specific problems, aircraft flight and safety, medical equipment and clinical care in the aeromedical environment
  • Study the legislation, insurance, and special issues associated with aeromedical retrieval in both domestic and international contexts

  • Participate in a three-day in-person block mode subject delivered in Townsville
  • Learn from clinical experts from various aeromedical retrieval services throughout Australia
  • Participate in field trips to examine operational rotary wing, fixed-wing, and military aeromedical retrieval assets up close
