Students can customize their coursework with elective subjects or pursue majors in Leadership or Economics, preparing them for careers in government, non-profit, and corporate sectors.

- The Master of Governance and Leadership program is designed to empower students to pursue professional development in management and leadership.
- Students will develop an in-depth understanding of leadership in casual, professional, and organizational contexts.
- The program covers key topics such as leading organizational change, conflict analysis, sustainable economics, policy analysis and management, and state governance.
- Students can choose from three options: a small-scale research project, pursuing a major (Leadership or Economics), or customizing their coursework.
- The program includes eight core subjects:
- Leading and Managing Organizational Change

- Legal Institutions and Governance
- Leadership Futures
- Policy Analysis and Management
- State Society and Governance

- In addition to the core subjects, students can choose four elective subjects or select one of two majors:

Entry Requirements:
- Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree with 4 years relevant employment/work experience or:
- Other qualifications or practical experience recognized by the Dean of the College of Business, Law and Governance, as equivalent to above.
- Employment/work experience: Applicants must have a minimum four (4) years full-time employment/work experience in management, governance or leadership roles.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 2 – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.
