Program Description:

The Health Data Analyst certificate is a specialized certificate option for those students interested in the healthcare data analytics field. Courses in the certificate program focus on healthcare statistics, use of data analytics for quality improvement, as well as the tools used to support data analytics work. This certificate is a good option for students interested in a career focused on analyzing, interpreting, and/or reporting health data.


Professional Certifications:

Graduates who have their RHIT credential and three years of experience are eligible to take the certification examination offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) for Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA).


Certificate of Completion (25-26 Credits)

Grade of 2.0 or better for each individual course in the program and program prerequisites required.


Program Prerequisites:

MATH& 146; BUS 150 or HIIM 242; HIIM 125; ENGL& 101 or BTWRT 215; HIIM 134; HIIM 154 and HIIM 172 or HIIM 180; and computer literacy (basic computer application skills including working in a PC Windows environment).
