Year 1 and 2
- Fundamentals of electronic engineering, communication, computer and network engineering, along with engineering mathematics and engineering science.
- Four business foundation subjects designed to help you succeed in your chosen career.
- Introduction to Professional Engineering subject, incorporating a humanitarian-focused Engineers Without Borders Challenge.
- Project work to put your knowledge of engineering methods into practice and develop your high-level technical and design skills.
- Communication, teamwork and leadership skills, and how to transmit knowledge, skills and ideas to others.
Year 3, 4 and 5
- Choose a major in either computer systems and network engineering, or electronic and communication engineering.
- Advanced knowledge in your specialized field, leading to a major individual engineering design project in your final year of study.
- Range of engineering electives to broaden your technical knowledge in engineering areas related to your major, enrich your skills, and develop your professional capabilities.
- Work-integrated learning (industry experience) elective in Year 4 or 5.
- Business studies, choose to undertake either a major or two minors. There are 13 business majors and over 30 business minors available to you to choose from.
- Business capstone experience subject, which will see you use an ePortfolio to reflect and provide evidence of learning to demonstrate personal accomplishments for personal development, career planning and progression after graduation.
Assessment:
Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, oral classes, presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.
Teaching:
This engineering and business double degree has an active learning approach, with emphasis placed on time spent in practice, laboratory based and work integrated learning activities that will develop your employability skills and capabilities. You will learn through a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations, group discussions and syndicate work.
