Program Overview

The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program at San José State University is a 4-year course of study that prepares students to diagnose and treat hearing loss and other disorders involving the ear. The program integrates academic coursework, clinical rotations, and a doctoral research project, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the science of hearing and balance mechanisms, clinical skills in identifying and treating hearing and balance disorders, and proficiency in using audiological equipment and techniques. Graduates are qualified to advise patients on hearing preservation, select and fit hearing aids and devices, and provide rehabilitation therapies.
